Forty-two years of experience in tent design pays off with the freestanding Velox two-person tent, which offers two doors and two vestibules and weighs a mere 4-plus pounds. The tent's pair of vestibules and doors let campers come and go as they please without disturbing a sleeping tent mate. In addition, it's a breeze to set up the tent thanks to the Quick Pitch Swivel Hub, which keeps the tent's poles pre-threaded and ready to pitch--a must after a long afternoon on the trail. Other details include a SuperSeal floor that keeps water outside, gear pockets for extra storage, and sturdy DAF Featherlite NSL poles.
The Velox 2-person tent with rainfly and vestibules. Features: Color-coded stake loops: The color-coded webbing guides the pole placement for a quick, easy setup. Made of durable, lightweight nylon, the webbing also assists with quick rainfly setup. DAC Featherlite NSL poles: These thick-diameter, thin-walled poles offer more strength and less weight than many other poles, with the best strength-to-weight ratio of any pole available today. The pole's unique joining insert, meanwhile, allows for a cleaner, smoother transition in Reverse Combi Technology (RCT). Dye-free optic white canopy: The canopy transmits light more effectively to produce a brighter, more pleasant environment when spending long hours inside the tent. Sierra Designs produces the optic white canopy without using chemical dyes. Lightweight fly material: The 40-denier, 1.94-ounce high-tenacity nylon construction offers a 246 thread count in a ripstop weave. The UV-protected fly also boasts silicon coating that's lightweight and waterproof, with a 1,500 mm polyurethane undercoating that adds to the durability and water tightness. Locking pole tips: A Sierra Designs innovation, these pole tips stay locked in the grommet for a faster, easier setup. Quick Pitch Swivel Hub: This updated item keeps the tent's poles pre-threaded and ready to pitch, with an increased angle of rotation reducing the likelihood of pitching errors. The tent body also features the H-Clip, which connects efficiently to the bottom of the hub to tension the peak of the tent. SuperSeal floor: Combining the benefits of catenary and bathtub floors, the SuperSeal floor offers a raised, taped perimeter seam that's guaranteed waterproof. The floor also maintains a tighter pitch with a better wind line to prevent flapping. Tent Guard with Ultra Fresh: Applied as part of the PU coating on Sierra's rain flies, floors, and footprints, Tent Guard extends the life of a tent by thwarting mold, mildew, and fungus. The Tent Guard is particularly valuable on extended trips or in damp climates, as it protects a tent if it's packed or stored temporarily while wet. Ultralight stakeout loops and vestibule tensioner: Lighter than webbing stakeout loops, these ultralight loops are made from reflective 3 mm cord and are color coded to the fly for easy setup. The ultralight vestibule line locks, meanwhile, are small and compact, yet cinch down fast and tight. Other details: Fast-pack footprint compatibility, gear pockets, PVC-free tape, reflective guy-outs and zipper pulls, and smoke swift
