Product Description
This is IT ! I designed this as a BSA Exclusive. Although it looks like the standard HyperLite ($45), in reality, it is a world apart. The poles are an aluminum material which just snaps into their locking fittings. The speed clip assembly allows it to be set up in ALL conditions. The floor is an ultralite material which is super durable. The seams are both welded and taped, so it should last a very long time. The rain cover is more than a 100% rain cover; it covers to large vestibules on the ends, so you can cook in one and keep your gear dry in the other. This rain cover has a special water-repellent coating which should last for many years. There are screened doors on both ends, so you will be be comfortable in the hot days of Philmont. This entire tent weighs only 6.50 pounds and easily stuffs down to 18 X 6 X 6". For those of you who were at the Southwest Encampment, these were the only tents standing in the 60 - 100 MPH winds. CampingMaxx designed a pack which has the best best features combined from many other backpacks. Yes, this has an Expedition-quality fully-adjustable frame, breathable fabric in the contact zone with your back, extra-long waist-belt straps, extra compression straps, duraflex plastic buckles,so it will not break easily, SOLID side pockets, instead of mesh, which will stretch out of shape, detachable fanny pack, waterprrof seams/zippers, built-in hydration system (bladder not included), 1000 Denier Kordura bottom plate, rip stop fabrics throughout, emergency rain ponchoe for the pack and packer, and MANY more features. This weighs only 5.40 pounds but expands to 6,000 cubic inches ! The weight load transfers to the wide, heavily padded hip belt, so the fatigue is mitigated. This is as good as it gets.
