The Superlite Quasar Tent by Terra Nova is a Superlite version of one of the brand's most successful tents, the Quasar. This tent has a geodesic structure with two doors. It is possibly the lightest tent of this kind available today. The Superlite Quasar is ideal for backpackers who want a secure shelter in all four seasons but do not want to carry much weight. Features of the Superlite Quasar include a waterproof double silicon flysheet, lightweight zippers and lightweight poles. The tent's ultralight fabrics are durable and waterproof, yet extremely lightweight. The structure of this tent also makes it very durable and secure. In order to make the tent as light as possible, Terra Nova does not seal the seams on this tent. The seams are, however, placed to minimize water leaks. People who want even more water protection can seal the seams themselves and use the tent with a separately available groundsheet protector. At a packed weight of just 2.5 kilograms, this tent weighs half of what the standard version weighs. It has a packed size of 59 by 22 centimeters, making it easy to fit into a pack.
