The tallest tent manufactured by Paha Que, the Pamo Valley six-person tent provides quality and performance you can count on in any weather. The three-season tent is roomier than most mid-size tents, with sidewalls that stand almost vertical and a floor size of 120 by 120 inches. As a result, you won't have to stay crouched whenever you wander through the tent. In addition, the tent is engineered to stand up to nasty weather, with an easy-to-install rainfly providing guaranteed waterproof performance in heavy rains and driving wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour. The tent's moisture-resistant features include heavy-duty polyurethane waterproofing on the rainfly, sidewalls, and window fabric; factory tape-sealed seams; and a bathtub-style floor that keeps ground water out of the tent. And once the weather improves, you can create a wide-open, airy feel in the tent, with a no-see-um mesh roof, doors, and windows providing excellent ventilation and visibility around camp.

Other features include a large zipper door that converts into an awning to create a sheltered seating area; an overhead gear hammock that provides off-the-floor storage; and dual gear slings suspended under each side window. The Pomo Valley--which sets up quickly thanks to its shock-corded aluminum poles--comes with an oversized carrying bag and weighs just less than 30 pounds.

The three camping buddies who founded Paha Que began talking over evening campfires about how to build a better tent--one that wouldn't leak, but was roomy; one that offered headroom to folks who stand 6 feet or taller; and one that provided camping enthusiasts with the luxuries of home. So they discussed their idea to their friend Spike, Pamo Valley ranch foreman for the last 50 years. His reply? "Stop talkin' bout it, and get to it, dammit!" The fruits of their labor evolved into a company known
