A redesign of MSR's Twin Peaks tarp shelter, the MSR Twin Sisters shelter is great for backcountry minimalists in all weather conditions--from ski touring to an unexpected hailstorm in summer. Pitch it with ski or trekking poles or guy it out from overhead, the Twin Sisters sets up easily to keep out even the worst, wind-driven weather. It features an upgraded, ultra-durable nylon ripstop fabric that weighs just 28 ounces, and it has taped seams, reinforced stress points and ultralight stake hoops. The snow skirt seals out frigid winter drafts and keeps bugs at bay in summer, while the peak ventilation design keeps condensation at bay and increases safety when used in snow and ice storms.
Note that this shelter does not come with poles--you can easily use trekking poles, walking staffs, or paddles for the two center supports.
